Hey! This is my first year flying and i am going to have to agree with the earlier resposes. You have to have complete trust in your bases or else you wont be able to do anything besides like a prep. I had a really good backspot in the beginning of the year and i trusted her a lot. Her dad made her quit and now i have a backspot that i dont trustt as much flying is so much harder now. She just isnt ready to catch me and she doesnt try. Now even my libs are retarted

In a herkie, that back leg pulls up to a tab;e top so your knee and foot are at the same height. in a hurdler your front leg is higher than level. It’s more like kick height and your back knee is back and your foot awayou from your body. Your whole back lef is in a 90 degree level. Your legs should look like a check mark.
To be a cheerleader I wouldn’t really recommend the cheer videos that are sold in the stores, maybe rent them and watch them. If there are cheerleaders at your school watch them and watch what they do. Also, you could talk to a cheer coach for that school or an all-star squad and ask them what it takes to make their individual squad.
Jumps are a really big requirement though! Tumbling is awesome too. You could take some tumbling lessons at a tumble gym. Most all star squads have tumbling lessons offered.
1) Always keep your eyes on the flyers hips so you know which way her center of gravity is moving.
2) If you are back spotting cradles turn your head to the side and look out the corner or your eye at the flyer so you don’t get a bloody nose.
3) As both a base and a spot always use your legs to muscle up those stunts.
